Xianyang Polytechnic Institute (XYPI) welcomed a delegation from Kazakhstan on December 12 for an award ceremony celebrating the "Medical Artistry" China–Kazakhstan Hand-Drawn Anatomy Competition, followed by talks on deepening cooperation under the “Qinling Workshop” overseas education program.
The visiting delegation included Zhu Li, President of the Kazakhstan Belt and Road Research Institute, and Yerlan Tanabergenov, Head of International Cooperation and Academic Mobility at Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University. They were received by XYPI Vice President Wu Xujin, along with heads of the College of Medicine and Office of International Exchange and Cooperation.

During the discussions, Vice President Wu extended a warm welcome to the guests and reviewed the productive history of the cooperation between the two sides. She highlighted the recent competition, which showcased both medical knowledge and artistic talent among students from China and Kazakhstan, strengthening mutual understanding and friendship through the medium of medical science.
“This event has added a meaningful cultural and academic dimension to the ‘Qinling Workshop’ framework,” Wu remarked. She expressed hope that both institutions would take this opportunity to further advance the workshop’s development, expand faculty and student exchanges, collaborate on curriculum design, and promote “Chinese + Vocational Skills” training programs.
Tanaberginov affirmed the fruitful achievements of bilateral cooperation, stressing that Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University attaches great importance to its partnership with XYPI. He voiced anticipation for further deepening teacher-student exchanges and skills training on the existing basis to continuously enhance the quality and efficiency of the "Qinling Workshop" project.
Subsequently, leaders of XYPI and representatives of the Kazakhstani delegation jointly presented certificates of honor to the award-winning students of the "Medical Artistry" Competition. In the final session, the two parties also explored ways to localize the “Qinling Workshop” curriculum for the "Qinling Workshop" overseas education program and the invitation of Kazakhstani students to participate in the WorldSkills Competition.

The "Medical Artistry" competition, a key initiative under XYPI’s “Qinling Workshop” program, attracted more than 200 participants from both countries. After evaluation by experts from China and Kazakhstan, 17 entries were awarded prizes. Moving forward, XYPI plans to invite more partner institutions to join the competition, fostering cross-cultural educational exchanges and enhancing the event’s influence—contributing fresh humanistic vitality to the construction of the "Healthy Silk Road."
