Xianyang Polytechnic Institute Expands Global Footprint at 2025 Belt and Road Vocational Education Academic Annual Conference

Xianyang Polytechnic Institute (XYPI), a premier vocational institution in Shaanxi Province, made notable international educational inroads by attending the 2025 Belt and Road Vocational Education Academic Annual Conference in Shenzhen from May 23 to 25. The college inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, a leading polytechnic celebrated for its cutting-edge research and educational excellence from Finland.

Under the theme "New Responsibilities, New Actions, New Frontiers," the conference convened nearly 300 delegates from 52 countries and regions and five international organizations. Eminent participants included Lu Xin, President of the China Vocational and Technical Education Society (CVTEC) and Former Vice Minister of Education, and Li Kang, CVTEC Vice President and Former Vice Chairperson of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Political Consultative Conference.


Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, one of Finland's largest university of applied sciences with over 10,000 enrolled students, has long dominated the nation's academic rankings for its applied research capabilities and industry-integrated curricula. Following extensive preliminary discussions and virtual dialogues, XYPI and Haaga-Helia solidified a comprehensive partnership covering vocational education academic exchanges, faculty exchange and training programs, joint specialty construction and educational resource sharing, and in the conference had the Memorandum of Understanding signed, representing a landmark in XYPI’s strategic initiative to internationalize its educational framework under Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
