Bimala Ghimire, Vice Chairperson of the National Assembly of Nepal, led an eight-member delegation on an official visit to Xianyang Polytechnic Institute (XYPI) on Wednesday, marking a step toward strengthening Sino-Nepali collaboration in vocational education. The delegation was welcomed by Yang Weijun, President of XYPI, alongside Deputy Party Secretary Sun Yanbin, Vice President Wu Xujin, and officials from provincial and municipal foreign affairs offices.

Ghimire and her team had a campus tour, visiting the Infant and Early Childhood Education Practice Center, Yizhi Library, Human Life Science Museum, Rehabilitation Training Laboratory and the gymnasium. The delegation commended the institution’s modern infrastructure, student-centered learning environment, and achievements in niche program development, particularly in healthcare and vocational skills training.

After the campus tour, both parties held a talk, where President Yang emphasized the XYPI’s long history, industry-aligned programs, and its reputation as a Top-200 Higher Vocational College in China. “We hope this exchange will serve as a bridge for deeper collaboration between our college and Nepal in vocational education, fostering mutual growth and enriching our shared vision for skilled workforce development,” Yang stated.

The visit also featured a cultural immersion segment where Nepali delegates experienced traditional Chinese medicine therapies, including therapeutic massage and moxibustion. The Nepali guests expressed admiration for the profound depth and sophistication of traditional Chinese medicine, remarking, “These ancient practices embody remarkable wisdom.”
