Kyrgyz Delegation from Ministry of Education and Science Visits Xianyang Polytechnic Institute

On January 6, a three-member delegation from the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan, led by Deputy Minister Rasul Abazbek uulu, paid an official visit to Xianyang Polytechnic Institute (XYPI) in China. Zhang Liang, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges at the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, accompanied the delegation throughout the visit. President Yang Weijun and Vice President Wu Xujin of XYPI hosted the guests, with senior representatives from the School of Medicine, School of Normal, and the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange also attending the discussions.

In his welcome address, President Yang Weijun extended a warm reception to the Kyrgyz delegation and expressed his gratitude to the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education for facilitating such an important platform for international cooperation. He introduced the institute’s regional cultural background and distinctive educational strengths, highlighting its proactive efforts in serving the Belt and Road Initiative. President Yang emphasized that the institute would use the outcomes of the China-Central Asia Summit involving Shaanxi as a foundation to deepen vocational education collaboration with Kyrgyzstan. He expressed hopes that this exchange would serve as a catalyst for strengthening mutual ties, innovating cooperative models, and sharing tangible results. He called for practical joint projects in fields such as early childhood education and medical sciences, envisioning a new chapter in Sino-Kyrgyz vocational education cooperation.

Deputy Minister Rasul Abazbek uulu expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the institute and offered high praise for its significant achievements in international engagement. He gave a brief overview of the current state of vocational education in Kyrgyzstan, stressing its critical role in the country's economic development. He voiced a strong interest in broadening the scope of cooperation and implementing concrete outcomes, particularly in areas such as the development of national vocational standards, student and faculty exchange programs, and skills training initiatives. Furthermore, he pledged to actively promote partnerships between Kyrgyz institutions and XYPI to jointly contribute to educational innovation and development in both countries.

During the visit, the delegation toured several key facilities at XYPI, including the Jinggu Art Gallery, the Early Childhood Education Practice Centre, the Human Anatomy Museum, and the Rehabilitation Training Zone. These visits offered the Kyrgyz guests a first-hand experience of the institute’s educational strengths and the dynamic progress of China’s vocational education sector.
