On September 13, the China-Uzbekistan Vocational Education Cooperation and Development Seminar was held grandly in Wuxi, China. The event was guided by Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, and hosted by Tangfeng International Education Group. Distinguished attendees included Hudaberdiyev Zainiddin Yavkashevich, Director of Uzbekistan’s Institute for the Development of Vocational Education, and more than 300 leaders and experts from educational and industrial sectors in China and Uzbekistan, who gathered to explore collaborative opportunities in vocational education.
During the seminar, the "China-Uzbekistan Vocational Education Alliance" was officially established, accompanied by the launch of several national-level cooperative plans, including the China-Uzbekistan Vocational Education Cooperation 2030 Agenda. These initiatives marked a significant milestone in the educational collaboration between the two nations, heralding a new chapter in vocational education development.
Wang Li, Vice Chairperson of the High-End Think Tank Federation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Multilateral Economic and Trade Platform Educational System, emphasized that the SCO Education Alliance will leverage its platform to provide comprehensive support and services for China-Uzbekistan and China-Pakistan vocational education collaborations. The alliance will focus on integrating and innovating educational philosophies, curriculum systems, and faculty training to propel high-quality development in vocational education.
Otabek Makhkamov, Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, delivered a video address, highlighting that the announcement by the heads of state in January to elevate China-Uzbekistan relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era provides a robust foundation for cooperation. The establishment of the China-Uzbekistan Vocational Education Alliance aligns with Uzbekistan’s 2030 Strategy and China’s Belt and Road Initiative, significantly contributing to Uzbekistan’s vocational education reform and both nations’ economic and social transformations. He extended his best wishes for the alliance’s fruitful outcomes.
During the founding ceremony of the China-Uzbekistan Vocational Education Alliance, over 110 Chinese institutions and organizations, including Xianyang Polytechnic Institute, were officially designated as members, with Xianyang Polytechnic Institute being elected as an Executive Council Member. Sixteen institutions from Uzbekistan also joined the alliance, laying a solid foundation for deepening collaboration in vocational education between the two countries.
