On August 9th, 9 delegates from Zimbabwe and Morocco visited Xianyang Vocational and Technical College ( XVTC ) and attended the Dialogue on International TVET Cooperation and Development (Shaanxi-Africa) held in XVTC. Zhang Di, Secretary of Party Committee, Zhao Wei, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee, Wu Xujin, Vice President, and Directors , Deans from related departments participated the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Wu Xujin.
In his opening speech at the meeting, Zhang Di expressed his sincere welcome to the distinguished guests from the two countries and introduced the history, location, development strategy, campus construction, faculty cultivation, majors, international cooperation, etc. Especially he shared the fruitful achievements made by XVTC in co-building the Belt & Road, including developing professional standards, promoting overseas education, building the overseas education brand Qinling Workshop. He expressed his hope to enhance cooperation in vocational education with African countries and jointly cultivate international talents.
Mr. Azeddine Ismail，Ministerial adviser for Ministry of Employment and Skills Training from Morocco and other delegates delivered keynote speeches on their countries’ vocational education status, integration of vocational education with industry, graduates employment, developing strategies. etc. They also expressed their gratitude to our warm reception and spoken highly of XVTC ’s efforts and achievements in international exchange and cooperation. They hoped to cooperate with XVTC in preschool education, information engineering, automobile technology and other vocational education fields.
Finally, Zhang Di stressed that China and Africa enjoys the common understanding on the role of vocational education in leading technology development and social progress, the same recognition on vocational education would help promoting the in-depth integration in talent chain, industry chain, innovation chain and education chain, and the shared vision on vocational educational cooperation and future development. He noted that XVTC would strive to enhance cooperation with Zimbabwe and Morocco in vocational education, sharing XVTC experience, mode and advantages so as to contribute more for building brilliant future for China and Africa and high-quality development of the Belt and Road initiative.
Before the meeting, the delegation had a campus tour visiting training centers in Normal School, Information Engineering School and the Automobile School, as well as the National Culture and Art Museum, where they raved about the rapid development of Chinese vocational education and Chinese craftsmanship spirit.
